Marriage, matrimony or wedlock is a culturally and legally recognized union between a man and a woman called spouses. We have heard the quote, “Never marry the one you can live with, marry the one you cannot live without.” Another quote says, “the secret of a happy marriage is finding the right person.” According to the survey choosing the right person is considered the utmost priority for a successful marriage. So, is it correct that the selection of the right person is important?
No, it is not correct. A happy marriage is a union between two forgivers. The most important thing for a successful marriage is to understand the fundamental truth that men and women are different. They are at odds with each other. They look different physically. Their thinking is divergent, their speech is different, and most importantly, they handle emotions differently. For example, men are motivated when they feel needed, while women are motivated when they feel cherished. When men and women can respect and accept the differences, then love will blossom. The key to a successful marriage is to understand that men and women are alien to each other. Understand that we didn’t choose our children, yet we love them deeply. So, it is not the selection but the conscious decision that makes the relationship better.
